Chapter 595 Ye Haoxuan: Dafei, we have a mission tonight.
"Ah Kun made an appointment with the other party at four o'clock tomorrow morning. He didn't know the exact number of people, but Ah Le's remaining members are all desperate criminals, probably no less than five, and they will most likely be armed."
Tony paused for a moment, then added, "I've already sent the guys from Haojiang to scout out the docks. They'll report back immediately if anything comes up."
Tachibana Masahito sheathed his short sword and said in a low voice, "Brother Xuan, shall we lead the brothers and charge in?"
"Don't rush in headfirst." Ye Haoxuan straightened up, his eyes darkening. "I'll be officially returning to the police force in a few days. Try to keep this operation as low-key as possible. It would be best to catch them alive, but if that's not possible, don't leave too many traces. The key is to seize that sum of money. Also, use Ah Kun to find more of Ah Le's remaining gang members—Ah Le is still on the run, and these people are the key to finding him."
Tony nodded: "Understood, Brother Xuan. I'll arrange for men to be on the dock by 3 a.m. tomorrow, blocking them from three directions: one group at the main entrance, one group at the side entrance, and another group at the road outside the dock to prevent them from escaping."
Ye Haoxuan slowly exhaled a smoke ring, the smoke dissipating in the air: "I'll make the arrangements. Wasn't the reason I sent Dafei and Datou to open the 'Xing Le Nightclub' in Haojiang for this kind of situation?"
Upon hearing this, Tachibana Masahito, who was leaning against the corner of the wall, raised his eyes.
He knew that Ye Haoxuan always planned carefully before acting. After sweeping up various triads in Hong Kong Island, it was only a matter of time before he extended his reach to Macau. Opening a nightclub was just a front; the real purpose was to establish a foothold and gather local connections.
"I'll call Dafei right now." Tony immediately picked up the mobile phone on the table and was about to dial when Ye Haoxuan raised his hand to stop him.
"Let me talk to him." Ye Haoxuan took the cell phone and dialed Dafei's number.
It rang three times before being answered, with the sounds of a nightclub faintly coming from the background.
"Brother Xuan!" Dafei's voice was cheerful. "The nightclub is just getting back on track, business is good tonight, I was just about to report to you!"
"Put business aside for now, we have important business to attend to." Ye Haoxuan's tone turned serious. "Ah Kun, the croupier in the VIP room of the casino has arranged to meet Ah Le's remaining gang at 4 a.m. at the old pier in Sai Wan to exchange a sum of money—this is Ah Le's reserve fund hidden in Macau, not the 30 million we intercepted from the underground bank before. You take Da Tou and the brothers from the nightclub to set up an ambush there."
The noise from Dafei's side immediately subsided, indicating that they had moved to a quieter place.
"Understood! Brother Xuan, do you want him alive or to kill him outright?"
"Try to catch them alive, and don't make a big fuss," Ye Haoxuan instructed. "I'm going back to the police station soon. Let the Haojiang police finish this and hand over the funds involved. That will give me some leverage when I return to the police force. Remember, don't reveal your Hung Hing identity. Just say you're helping a friend collect a debt."
"Don't worry, Brother Xuan! I know the rules!" Dafei patted his chest and assured him, "I'll call Datou right now and get the guys from the nightclub out. We'll definitely have an ambush set up at the pier before 3 a.m. Also, I know a few local old hands in Macau, people I made when I was running the nightclub. I'll have them keep an eye on the perimeter to make sure nothing gets leaked."
"Okay, be careful." Ye Haoxuan paused and added, "Ah Kun is a dealer, he's skilled, and he might try to destroy evidence. Have Da Tou keep an eye on his hands. Ah Le's remnants are all desperate criminals, and they'll most likely be armed. Make sure the brothers have their weapons ready and don't let their guard down."
"Received! Guaranteed to complete the task!"
After hanging up the phone, Ye Haoxuan put his mobile phone on the table: "Tony, contact Director Huang and tell him that Ah Lok's gang was transferring case-related reserve funds at the old wharf in Xihuan, Haojiang. Ask him to send Haojiang police over to clean up the mess around 4:30 a.m.
"Okay, Brother Xuan." Tony immediately turned around to make a phone call.
Tachibana Masahito walked to the table: "Brother Xuan, don't you need me to come and help?"
“No need.” Ye Haoxuan shook his head. “Dafei and Datou can handle it. You stay in Hong Kong Island and keep an eye on the remnants of Ah Lok’s gang here to prevent them from causing trouble while my attention is on Macau.”
"Understood." Tachibana Masahito nodded, leaning back against the corner of the wall, his hand still resting on the short sword at his waist.
On the other side, at the Hing Lok Nightclub in Haojiang.
Dafei hung up the phone, turned around and shouted to Datou beside him, "Datou! Stop drinking here, come with me! We have work to do!"
Upon hearing this, Da Tou immediately stood up, picked up his jacket draped over the back of the chair, and asked, "Brother Fei, where are we going?"
"The old wharf in Sai Wan, the people who arrested Ah Lok." Da Fei strode out, "Take ten brothers, bring all their weapons, don't make a sound, go quietly."
"Okay!" Big Head immediately went to gather people.
Ten minutes later, three inconspicuous vans drove out of the nightclub's back door and headed towards the old pier in Sai Wan.
On the bus, Dafei made a phone call to a local old hand he knew, briefly explained the situation, and the other party readily agreed to help keep an eye on the perimeter.
3 a.m., old pier in Sai Wan.
The sky was pitch black, with only an old light bulb hanging at the entrance of the dock, swaying back and forth in the sea breeze, its light flickering.
The waves crashed against the rocks, making a "whoosh whoosh" sound, which made the surroundings even quieter.
Dafei, along with Datou and his brothers, had already laid an ambush around the dock.
He and Da Tou hid behind containers next to the old warehouse, while the other brothers split into three groups, guarding the main entrance, side entrance and outer intersection of the dock, forming an encirclement.
"Brother Fei, this place is way too remote. Ah Le's men certainly know how to pick a spot." Big Head lowered his voice, his eyes scanning the surroundings warily.
“The more remote the location, the easier it is to succeed, and the easier it is for us to ambush them.” Dafei squinted, staring at the direction of the dock entrance. “Remember, wait until they enter the warehouse before making our move. Don’t alert them.”
Big Head nodded and gripped the steel pipe in his hand tightly.
The men at the nightclub held their breath, no one dared to make a sound, only the sound of the sea breeze howling could be heard.
Time passed by, and at exactly four o'clock in the morning, footsteps could be heard in the distance.
By the dim light, Dafei saw two figures walking into the dock—the tall, thin man in front was Ah Kun, whom they had identified beforehand; the man behind him, with a burly face and carrying a black briefcase, was probably Ah Le's remaining gang.
"Did you bring the money?" The burly man's voice was hoarse as he walked, glancing left and right with extreme vigilance.
"Don't worry, it's all here." Ah Kun patted his pocket, his tone somewhat obsequious. "How could I dare to be careless about what Brother Le asked me to do? But when are you going to bring Brother Le back? I always feel unsafe in Haojiang."
"Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask." The burly man glared at Ah Kun. "Once you get the money, hurry up and get out of here in Southeast Asia to lay low. Brother Le will contact you once things are settled."
As they talked, they reached the entrance of the old warehouse.
