Chapter 1048 - 479: Fall of the Wind God (Part 2)

After the battle ended, the team members collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath.

They knew that their victory this time was entirely due to David’s wise leadership and the team’s cohesive efforts.

However, they were also fully aware that this victory was only temporary and that even greater challenges awaited them...

David gazed at the Wind Divine Format in his hand, filled with emotion.

He knew that the process of capturing the Wind Divine Format was fraught with hardships and dangers, but they had ultimately succeeded.

He carefully put away the Wind Divine Format and then stood up, saying to the team members, "Let’s go. There are still many things to do when we return."

The Ancient God Cemetery, a forgotten corner, hid the secret passage to the "Memory Corridor."

Here is where the Ancient Gods stored their memories and power, and it was also David’s only hope to repair the Divine Rift.

The team members, led by David, stepped into this mysterious and perilous region.

In the cemetery, ancient trees towered, and tombstones stood in abundance, each bearing the weight of a heavy history.

The air was filled with an ancient and mysterious atmosphere that involuntarily inspired awe.

David tightly held the Wind Divine Format, a determined gleam in his eyes, as if he could already see himself after repairing the Divine Rift.

"Everyone, be careful, there may be unknown dangers hidden here."

David softly reminded, his voice echoing clearly in the silent cemetery.

The team members nodded, clutching their weapons and magic staffs tightly, vigilantly scanning their surroundings.

At this moment, a breeze blew by, stirring up fallen leaves.

The leaves danced gracefully in the air before gently landing on the ground, as if laying a path for their arrival.

David led the team members along this path paved with leaves and soon arrived in front of a massive stone door.

The stone door was engraved with complex runes and patterns, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura.

"This is the entrance to the Memory Corridor."

David pointed to the stone door and said, "We must find a way to open it."

The team members gathered around, carefully examining the runes and patterns on the stone door.

After some research, they finally found the mechanism to open the stone door.

As the mechanism was activated, the stone door slowly opened, revealing a passage leading underground.

The team members ventured underground along the passage and soon entered a spacious hall.

Glowing crystal stones were embedded in the walls around the hall, illuminating the entire space.

Suspended in the center of the hall was a massive orb of light, flickering with various scenes and images, as if it were a colossal repository of memories.

"This is the Memory Corridor."

David observed the orb and said, "We need to find a way here to repair my Divine Rift."

With that, he led the team members closer to the orb, starting to carefully examine the images and scenes within.

However, just as they were immersed in the recall of memories, an unexpected situation suddenly occurred.

Annie suddenly experienced a severe headache, with strange images flashing before her eyes.

In the images, David was conversing with a mysterious woman whose face bore some resemblance to her.

What shocked her even more was that from their conversation, she discerned that David seemed to be using that woman to achieve some purpose.

"No! This can’t be true!"

Annie screamed painfully, clutching her head. "David, why are you doing this?"

David was taken aback by her words, completely unaware of what Annie was talking about.

He quickly approached Annie, asking with concern, "Annie, what’s wrong? What did you see?"

However, Annie was now entirely immersed in her emotions, unable to extricate herself.

She looked at David with eyes full of anger and disappointment, as if she now saw him as a stranger.

"David, I always regarded you as the most trustworthy person."

Anne said, her voice trembling, "I never thought you were using me all along!"

With that, she forcefully pushed David away and turned to run into the depths of the Memory Corridor.

David wanted to catch up and explain, but he was stopped by the other team members.

"David, don’t rush."

Reina advised, "Annie might have just seen something that led to a misunderstanding. Let’s look for her first."

David nodded helplessly, knowing that chasing her now would only make things worse.

Thus, he led the team members to search for Annie’s traces throughout the Memory Corridor.

However, unknown to them, shortly after Annie left, the Eternal Night Council took the opportunity to infiltrate the Memory Corridor.

They implanted "false memories" in Annie’s mind, making her mistakenly believe she was truly used by David as a tool and puppet.

When David and the team members finally found Annie, she was entirely under the control of the "false memories."

Her gaze had become cold and unfamiliar, as if she no longer recognized them.

"Annie, wake up!"

David shouted loudly, "It’s me, David! You are not my puppet!"

However, it was as though Annie didn’t hear his words at all.

She violently swung her arm, and a powerful force surged from the Earth Veins, instantly trapping David and the team members in place.

"Hahaha! David, didn’t expect this, did you?"

An icy voice suddenly echoed in the hall, "This is the consequence of betraying the Eternal Night Council!"

With the last sound, a figure clad in a black cloak, with a grim face, slowly emerged from the shadows.

The figure was one of the Earth Abyss Apostles of the Eternal Night Council, a powerful Dark Mage.

"Earth Abyss Apostle!"

David said through gritted teeth, "I can’t believe you dared infiltrate the Memory Corridor!"

The Earth Abyss Apostle sneered and said, "David, you think you can escape the control of the Eternal Night Council? Today is your death day!"

With that, he waved his magic staff, beginning to cast powerful Dark Magic.

Dark beams of light shot out from the magic staff, directly at David and the team members.

David and the team members valiantly resisted the attacks from the Earth Abyss Apostle, but they were trapped by the power of the Earth Veins, unable to exert their full strength.

Seeing the situation grow increasingly dire, David knew he had to quickly find a strategy to break the deadlock.

At this moment, he suddenly thought of a solution.

He quickly bit his finger, letting a drop of blood drip onto the Wind Divine Format.

As the blood dripped, the Wind Divine Format erupted into dazzling light, with a powerful force surging forth.

"Annie! Wake up!"

David shouted loudly, "Don’t be controlled by false memories!"

However, at this point, Annie had completely lost her reason.

She manipulated the power of the Earth Veins, continuously attacking David and the team members as if intending to eliminate them all.

David looked at Annie’s pained and contorted expression, filled with helplessness and sorrow in his heart.

He knew that only using extreme measures could awaken Annie now.

Thus, he took a deep breath and made a difficult decision.

"I’m sorry, Annie!"

David said softly, then vigorously swung his magic staff to channel the Divine Fire from the Wind Divine Format.

A stream of scorching flame shot from his fingertips, heading straight for Annie’s soul.

Annie let out a guttural scream before collapsing to the ground.

Her eyes became hollow and dazed, as if she had lost all consciousness.

David looked at Annie’s pained state, filled with guilt and sorrow, but he knew it was a sacrifice he had to make to save her.

The Earth Abyss Apostle sneered and said, "David, do you think this will save her? How naive!"

With that, he once again waved his magic staff, preparing to launch an even fiercer attack.

However, at that moment, a powerful force suddenly erupted from within Annie, instantly obliterating the Earth Abyss Apostle’s attack.
