Chapter 378: Holy Spirit Rebirth Ceremony
Chapter 378: Holy Spirit Rebirth Ceremony
After traveling nonstop with Mephit for half a day,
Li Wei finally arrived at the safe zone Savinia had mentioned.
’Thousand-Year Blood Pool?’
Li Wei looked astonished.
Coming down from the hillside, Li Wei saw a blood-red lake in the distance.
It was very similar to the Thousand-Year Blood Pool he had seen before.
Savinia nodded and said, "That’s right. This is the place."
Li Wei couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
He asked, "But isn’t the Thousand-Year Blood Pool deep within the Ancient Battlefield? Why is it here?"
"Don’t tell me we’re already at the Ancient Battlefield?"
Savinia shook her head. "No. Even if Mephit traveled at full speed, it would take at least three days to get back to the Ancient Battlefield."
"This is also a Thousand-Year Blood Pool, just a portion that the Master brought over."
Li Wei looked confused.
"What do you mean? The Thousand-Year Blood Pool can be moved?"
Savinia smiled and explained, "What do you think the Thousand-Year Blood Pool is?"
"This is the ultimate weapon our Master spent centuries of effort creating. It will play an extremely important role in his future grand undertaking."
"His grand undertaking? What exactly is he planning to do?" Li Wei asked.
Li Wei seized upon the important information in Savinia’s words.
Savinia shook her head. "I don’t know. All I know is that the Master has been planning this for centuries."
Li Wei was a little disappointed. ’Even Savinia doesn’t know what the Legendary Witch Lich is planning?’
He looked toward the approaching Thousand-Year Blood Pool and asked, "The Thousand-Year Blood Pool is an ultimate weapon? What does it do?"
Savinia gave a sly smile. "I’m not telling you."
"You’ll find out eventually."
Li Wei felt helpless.
When they reached the edge of the Thousand-Year Blood Pool, Li Wei saw the black-haired youth, Trace; the still-recovering, grievously injured Minotaur Arno; and the ethereal Ghost, Elizabeth.
Including Savinia and Mephit,
Li Wei had now met five of the Twelve Deadpool he knew of.
He looked at Savinia and asked, "You said there are Twelve Deadpool. Besides the five of you, where are the other seven?"
Savinia replied, "They aren’t here. You might meet them if you get the chance."
"What about your master? I want to see him," Li Wei said.
After much consideration, Li Wei decided he had to meet the Legendary Witch Lich in person and ask him what he was really planning.
Elizabeth said, "The Master hasn’t returned yet. He went to intercept the pursuers from Storm City."
Trace watched Li Wei silently, his gaze unfriendly.
He had nearly been blown to bits by Li Wei back then.
Even though Li Wei had inherited the Golden Bone Ring and gained control over the Twelve Deadpool, Trace still felt a sense of defiance toward him.
Li Wei asked, "When will he be back?"
Elizabeth shook her head. "It’s unclear."
Seeing this, Li Wei found a flat rock at the edge of the Thousand-Year Blood Pool, sat down, and began to meditate to recover his strength.
Savinia, Arno, Trace, and Elizabeth all stayed within the Thousand-Year Blood Pool, soaking in the bloody water.
Nourished by the Thousand-Year Blood Pool, the injuries on Minotaur Arno’s body began to recover rapidly.
Elizabeth’s body also became much more solid.
New flesh and bone gradually grew back on Savinia’s neck.
Only Mephit remained outside the Thousand-Year Blood Pool.
He was a Rock Demon Beast, and strictly speaking, not an Undead at all.
He was simply a follower who accompanied the Legendary Witch Lich.
In the blink of an eye, a day passed, and most of Li Wei’s depleted Spiritual Power had recovered.
He opened his eyes and looked at the Undead bathing in the Thousand-Year Blood Pool.
"Your master isn’t back yet?"
Li Wei asked.
Elizabeth shook her head. "No."
"When will he be back?" Li Wei pressed.
Savinia stepped out of the Thousand-Year Blood Pool.
Her body was fully restored, smooth and delicate.
It just lacked a sense of vitality, making it seem somewhat pale.
She said casually, "What are you so worried about? None of us are."
Li Wei glanced at Savinia’s flat chest, feeling not an ounce of worldly desire.
He said, "If he’s not coming back soon, I’m heading back first."
"Wait, the Master has something for you,"
Elizabeth said.
She ducked into the Blood Pool and emerged a moment later with a broken Bronze Tile.
Li Wei took the Bronze Tile and asked doubtfully, "What is this?"
Elizabeth said, "The Master heard that you killed a four-winged angel and obtained the Angel’s Heart, so he told me to give you this Holy Spirit Rebirth Ceremony."
"Holy Spirit Rebirth Ceremony?" Li Wei looked surprised.
"To be reborn as an angel?" Li Wei asked.
Elizabeth shook her head. "I’m not sure either. In any case, the Master told me to give it to you."
Li Wei glanced at the contents inscribed on the Bronze Tile. He couldn’t make sense of it at the moment, so he decided to take it back to study.
He took out a set of clothes, tossed them to Savinia, and turned to leave.
"Don’t just wander around like that."
Savinia watched Li Wei, tilting her head in confusion.
As an Undead, she had no concept of shame.
To her, flesh was far less important than bone.
Nevertheless, Savinia put on the clothes Li Wei had given her.
Li Wei headed in the direction of the Elemental Tower.
He took out his Magic Badge and activated its locating function.
A cursor of light appeared on the Magic Badge, pointing to the right.
That was the direction of the Elemental Tower.
Li Wei put away the Magic Badge and cast Fire Escape, speeding toward the Elemental Tower.
Without a Teleportation Array, his only option was to fly back.
When he had first arrived at the Elemental Tower, Li Wei had considered flying directly to Storm City.
But he had abandoned the idea, considering it too dangerous.
He never thought the day would come when he would be forced to do it anyway.
However, his current strength was far greater than before, so the level of danger was significantly reduced.
Along the way, Li Wei was attacked by flying creatures a few times.
After dealing with them easily, he encountered no other dangers.
The rest of the journey was smooth.
Li Wei saw a small black dot appear on the horizon and, with a final push, accelerated toward the Elemental Tower.
But mountains are always farther than they appear.
Even after spotting the Elemental Tower, it took Li Wei over an hour of flying to finally reach it.
Landing on the Floating Island, he let out a long sigh of relief.
His tense heart began to relax.
’I’m finally back.’
Returning to the Elemental Tower meant he was truly safe.
Li Wei walked toward the Floating City.
It seemed the news of the chaos that had erupted in Storm City had not yet reached the Elemental Tower.
None of the people in the Floating City were discussing the events in Storm City.
Otherwise, Li Wei would have overheard something about it walking down the street.
When Storm City was attacked by the Undead before, the news had spread like wildfire, and everyone in the Floating City had been talking about it.
Having experienced an Undead attack themselves, the people of the Floating City were extremely sensitive to such news.
As Li Wei walked, he pondered.
’Which side am I on right now?’
’The Elemental Tower? Or the Undead?’
Li Wei felt he was in an incredibly delicate position.
He was playing both sides.
One wrong move, and he could end up capsized and dead.
