Chapter 404 Vacation
Chapter 404 Vacation
Seeing the light of friendship from the other person, Chao Bufan felt very warm and shook hands with a smile: "Hello, my name is Chao Bufan, it's nice to meet you."
"Hello, my name is Bridal." Bridal was the second to greet Superb with great enthusiasm.
"Hello." A remarkably warm and enthusiastic response.
"Hello, my name is Fenrir."
"Hello."
"Hello, my name is Dosru."
"Hello."
After exchanging greetings with everyone, Bridal smiled and said, "Extraordinary! From now on, we're a team. Please guide me in the future!" His words were sincere and without the slightest affectation.
"I dare not presume to offer guidance. I am a newcomer and I truly hope you can give me more guidance!" Chao Bufan felt a deep sense of kinship and wholeheartedly decided to befriend these four "friends."
"We're all grown men, so there's no need for formalities. Since we're all brothers, let's help each other out from now on." Fenrit seemed to have accepted Chao Bufan as his brother and friend from the East, and he was also determined to befriend the others.
“That’s right, Fenrit is right. We’re all brothers, we should help each other,” Bridal emphasized.
"Okay." The five of them looked at each other and smiled, and the little boat of friendship set sail among them.
The college's academic affairs office, Principal Smith, and Professor Warlock were already seated, waiting for the five participating students to arrive so they could give them a general explanation of the competition details.
A short while later, Chao Bufan and his four companions walked in, beaming and chatting. This surprised the five senior leaders of the academy, who had thought there might be some distance between Chao Bufan and the other four. Now it seemed that their worries were unnecessary.
"Hello, Principal! Hello, Professors!" As soon as they entered, Chao Bufan and his five colleagues greeted them with bows.
Principal Smith smiled and closed his head: "Yes, you've arrived. Please have a seat!"
"Thank you, Principal!" The five of them were completely at ease and took their seats.
Smith, with a constant smile, said, "In the past, the competitions were all attended by the older students of the school who were of similar skill. This year, the four professors and I carefully analyzed and discussed the matter, and decided to change our approach and let you younger students get some experience. That's why we're letting you participate. Of course, this is closely related to your personal qualities, your understanding of magic, and your mastery of magical skills. Therefore, the academy has high hopes for you in this competition, and we hope you can give it your all and win honor for our magic academy."
"Please rest assured, Principal, we will do our best to bring glory to the college." Chao Bufan and his four companions were invigorated and said with resolute expressions.
“Good, good, we can rest assured with your words.” Principal Smith nodded in satisfaction, then added, “Professor Warlock will tell you about all the details of this competition later. You must listen carefully to avoid any mistakes during the competition.”
"Yes, Principal," the five replied with serious expressions.
“Alright, Professor Warlock, you can explain the details of the match to them!” Principal Smith said to Professor Warlock.
Professor Warlock nodded, then coughed and said, "The competition between the two schools is roughly the same each year. Each college sends five people to participate in six events. The first five events are individual competitions, with each of you competing in one round. The last event is a team competition, where you can send two, three, or even all five of you together. The individual competitions are self-explanatory; they test your individual skills. As for the team competitions, they test your teamwork, which is the key. So, you must cooperate well during the competition."
"Yes, we know," the five extraordinary individuals said in unison.
Professor Warlock nodded and continued, "Since the last competition was hosted by our magic academy, this year's competition will be hosted by the Dark Arts Academy. Professor Mihir will be leading you to the competition. The academy has given you a few days off, so use this time to get to know each other better and prepare for the competition."
"Yay! Long live the principal! Long live the professor!" Upon hearing about the holiday, Bridal and his three friends immediately screamed with excitement. This shows that the academy's holidays are pitifully few. Otherwise, Huang Mengting and the others wouldn't be complaining. They've been here for a month and haven't even had half a day off. No wonder Bridal and the others are so excited.
The principal and the others didn't seem to find anything sacrilege in Bridal and his group's "out of control." As if they had expected this reaction, they all laughed. Then, Professor Warlock said with a smile, "That's all I have to say about the general situation. Professor Mihir will explain the other matters to you in more detail later. Alright, you can leave now."
The five men stood up and said respectfully, "Goodbye, Principal! Goodbye, Professors!"
After Chao Bufan and the others left, Principal Smith chuckled and said, "Professor Warlock, what do you think the outcome would be if these five represented our college in the competition?"
Professor Warlock glanced at Professor Mihir and the other two, then smiled and said, "We think our magic academy will definitely win this competition."
"Oh?" Principal Smith was slightly surprised and asked curiously, "Just because there's someone extraordinary here?"
"And what do you think?" Professor Warlock countered.
"Personally, I don't think our magic academy has much of a chance in this competition. After all, the extraordinary ones haven't been in the training for long and don't have any practical experience. As for the others, that depends on their fate."
Principal Smith addressed the issue directly, and Professor Warlock and others nodded in agreement. They all knew perfectly well that this competition, nominally a friendly league, was in reality a life-or-death struggle. The reason they sent Bridal and his classmates wasn't because they were the best in their respective departments, but simply because the school didn't want to reveal its true strength. After all, the two schools had always been bitter rivals, and this was a precautionary measure.
“If we do this, I’m sure they will do the same, so I’m not worried about their safety,” Professor Grace said.
"Let's hope so! If they win this competition, then we'll give them some rewards as a way of repaying our school for winning this honor. What do you think?"
Principal Smith's unprecedented statement truly surprised Professor Warlock and the others, who felt as if the sun had risen in the west. The four professors exchanged glances, and Professor Warlock spoke first: "If they really win this competition, it is only right to give them some rewards."
